The University of Nyíregyháza has signed a cooperation agreement with H-Didakt Kft. on professional developments related to the work of the LEGO Education Innovation Studio. More than 500 teachers have already developed the innovative teaching method in the first and only Lego studio in Central and Eastern Europe.
Back in 2018, the first and only Lego Education Studio in Central and Eastern Europe was established thanks to the cooperation of the University of Nyíregyháza, the Lego factory and H-Didakt Kft. The aim of this was to make The Lego an educational tool for future teachers during their university studies.
Unique training
The studio is run by a university employee, József Szabó, who is an international academy trainer for Lego. There are only two such specialists in Hungary.
“We have already trained nearly 500 teachers in the country, and we would like to be the Lego methodological research center in the country, where we will conduct research and play an even more active role in teacher training, and in the future there will be no teacher at the University of Nyíregyháza who will not master this innovative teaching method,” prof. Vassné said. Erika Figula, rector of the University of Nyíregyháza.

The cooperation agreement was now concluded with H-Didakt Kft. by the University of Nyíregyháza, with the professional and development help of this company they were able to start lego studio in the institution. The relationship began years ago, H-Didakt Kft. is a distributor of Lego Education in Hungary. The work of recent years has been useful and innovative based on the experience of the parties involved, the Lego educational method has many advantages.
21st century curriculum
“Our tools always have a digital platform, I don’t think I need to talk about why it is very important for today’s generation in school to be able to increase their digital competences, and the other is to develop tools and curricula for schools and kindergartens where they can develop very important competences in the 21st century. By this I mean cooperation skills, digital competences, development of communication skills, development of algorithmic thinking, so the curricula are designed for the development of these materials,” said Anikó Bald, Managing Director of H-Didakt Kft.
Each tool has a well-developed curriculum, which is given to teachers at the lesson plan level. The curriculums are always tested and tested, making it even easier for teachers to do so. And for students, it’s more interesting to present the curriculum through Lego tools.
